New Jersey, in the colonial history was involved with New York (New Holland), to which he belonged. A year after the Dutch surrender to England in 1664, New Jersey, was organized as an English colony under Gov. Philip Carteret.

In 1676 a colony was divided in Carteret, and English Quakers who had received the company's rights belong to John, Lord Berkeley. New Jersey became a crown colony of Great in 1702, administered by the Royal Governor of New York. Eventually, in 1738, in New Jersey was separated in New York the owner of Royal Governor Lewis Morris. Thanks to its key position in New York and Philadelphia, New Jersey, has seen much fighting during the American Revolution.

Today, New Jersey, a wide range of industrial diversification, is known as the crossroads to the east.
