Marine insurance is a vital part of any overseas move and although it is our top priority to ensure all your belongings arrive safely it is recommended that Marine Insurance coverage be taken.
Unity Van Lines, Inc. can recommend few insurance companies to protect you against all risks while your goods are in transit.
Below are the different types of cover offered via the insurance broker:
1.Limited cover: this is the basic insurance for owner packed items covering physical loss or physical damage attributable to fire or explosion, vessel or craft being stranded, ground, sunk or capsized, overturning or derailment of land conveyance, collision or contact of vessel, craft or conveyance with any external object other than water.
The charge is 2.5% of the declared value of the goods with a deductible pf $500.00.
2. All Risks: this covers all goods that have been packed by us and includes loss, theft, damage, breakage, and everything that applies to the Limited cover. The charge is 2.5% of the declared value of the goods with a deductible of $500.00.
3. All Risks: this covers all goods that have been packed by us and includes loss, theft, damage, breakage, and everything that applies to the Limited cover. The charge is 3.0% of the declared value of the goods with a deductible of $250.00.
The minimum charge for insurance is $62.50
