He first studied in France by Robert Cavelier, Sieur de la Salle, in 1679-1680, the area most important to understand the struggle between France and Britain in North America that culminated with British victory in 1763. George Rogers Clark's American forces against the British in the Revolutionary War and, before becoming a state, Indiana was the scene of frequent Indian revolts as long as the profits of Fallen Timbers General Anthony Wayne in 1794 and General William Henry Harrison Tippecanoe in 1811 .

Indiana 41 miles of waterfront on Lake Michigan, one of the world's great industrial centers-is iron, steel and petroleum products. The products include auto parts and accessories, mobile homes and recreational vehicles, truck and bus bodies, aircraft engines, agricultural machinery, structural steel. Wooden office furniture and pharmaceuticals are also manufactured.

The state is a leader in agriculture with corn the principal crop. Hogs, soybeans, wheat, oats, rye, tomatoes, onions, and poultry also contribute greatly to agricultural production in Indiana.

Much of the limestone used in building the United States is broken in Indiana, who is also a major producer of coal. Other minerals of crushed stone, cement and sand and gravel.

Wyandotte Cave, one of the largest in the United States, located in Crawford County in southern Indiana, and West Baden and French Lick is famous for its mineral springs.
